🗣️ Applicants must have knowledge of the Romanian language and present a language proficiency certificate.
📜 Exceptions to the Romanian language requirement are made for individuals:
▶ Born in Romania and seeking to regain citizenship
▶ Over 65 years old applying for citizenship through Romanian ancestors
🕒 The commission prepares a report verifying the fulfillment of legal conditions for granting Romanian citizenship within a maximum of 2 and a half years from the date of application submission.
📑 Proof of civil status of the applicant, their ascendants, and descendants must be provided through original extracts from civil status documents issued by the competent authority no more than 2 years before submitting the citizenship application. Older documents lose their validity.
